PREPARATION
For optimal results, please do not pluck, tweeze or wax the area to be treated for a period of six weeks prior to your laser treatment appointment. However, you can shave the day before the treatment as well as in between the sessions.
3-4 days before your first laser hair removal treatment with us, you will come in for your consultation and a patch test on a small area of your skin. This helps us to determine if you are suitable for the treatment and the level of laser energy to be used for the most effective course of treatment. Also to check if you will have any adverse reactions to laser therapy.
We also recommend that our clients avoid caffeine prior to laser appointments, since it can make your skin more sensitive to pain. On the day of your appointment do not wear any perfume, deodorant or makeup on the area to be treated.
Avoid exposing the area to direct sunlight for 2 weeks prior to your treatment and always protect the skin with sunscreen.
AFTERCARE
Post care - There may be some mild heat and redness in areas that have been treated. Soothe any redness and sensitivity with our after care lotion (available for purchase in clinic). This can be applied liberally for 3-5 days or until the skin has returned to its pre-treatment state.
For 24-48 hours post-treatment, avoid shaving, waxing or plucking the hair, exfoliation, excessive sweating, swimming or saunas, hot showers, and tight restrictive clothing.
Protect the treated area from direct sunlight and UV radiation for at least 2 weeks after your treatment and always use the SPF 30+ or 50+ (available for purchase in clinic) to protect the skin and maintain results.
Avoid scratching, picking or rubbing the treated area. Let any scabs or crusts naturally slough off to prevent infection and scarring.
Drink plenty of water to help your body flush out toxins and promote healing.
Monitor for Side Effects: Keep a vigilant eye on the treated area for any signs of infection, persistent redness, swelling, or unusual discomfort. If you notice any concerning symptoms, contact the clinic promptly.
